Hey, ik ben Erik. Leuk dat je mijn blog bezoekt.
Laat ik me eerst even netjes voorstellen. Ik ben Erik, 29 jaar oud (dit ga ik iedere keer moeten bijwerken) en vrijgezel. Ik woon bij mijn ouders in het kleine, rustige dorpje Hattemerbroek, vlakbij de ‘grote’ stad Zwolle.
Mijn ouders hebben zeven kinderen op de wereld gezet, vijf jongens en twee meisjes, en ik ben de oudste van het stel. Inmiddels is mijn oudste broertje getrouwd en heeft een dochtertje. Het allerliefste en schattigste nichtje op de wereld. Al die mensen in huis zorgen voor een hoop herrie, gezelligheid en soms onenigheid. Dat maakt het geheel erg interessant en kleurrijk.
In mijn vrije tijd studeer ik maatschappelijk werk aan Windesheim. Daarnaast blog (duh), fotografeer, kook, lees, DIY, sport en luister en maak ik muziek. Ik ben ook erg actief binnen onze kerk: bijeenkomsten, activiteiten voor clubs (jongens: 8-12) en zo hier en daar geluidsopnames.
Ik probeer dit vaak allemaal tegelijk te doen waardoor ik nog wel eens wat vergeet of verkeerd plan. Geïnspireerd blijven en alle ballen in de lucht houden is een uitdaging voor mij maar ik leer langzamerhand.
Deze blog gaat over mijn weg hierin en het ontdekken van de wereld om me heen. Want laten we eerlijk zijn, er is zo veel moois te ontdekken. Ik ben christen en geloof dat God alles laat meewerken ten goede voor mij zoals staat in Romeinen 8:28. Die tekst is de achtergrond van deze blog. Ik geloof dat het mogelijk is om altijd gelukkig te zijn, wat er ook op mijn pad komt. Met deze instelling wil ik deze wereld en mijn plaats daarin ontdekken. Jij mag met me mee op reis.

Hey, I’m Erik. So nice of you to come visit my blog.
Let me introduce myself properly. My name is Erik, 29 years old (I’m gonna have to alter this every year) and single. I live with my parents in a small and quiet village in The Netherlands named Hattemerbroek. It’s nearby the ‘big’ city Zwolle. My parents brought seven kids into this world, five boys and two girls, and I’m the eldest of the bunch. One of my brothers is already married to a lovely wife and has a daughter. The sweetest and cutest niece in the whole wide world. All this people in one house make a lot of noise, fun, cosiness and sometimes a bit of a quarrel. This is what makes our lives quite colorful and interesting.
In my spare time I’m a student social work at Windesheim. Besides that I: blog (duh), make pictures, cook, read, DIY, do some sports and I make an listen to music. I’m also an active church member: meetings, activities for boys (8-12) and sometimes some recordings.
Trying all this at the same time makes me forget things or screw up my agenda. Staying inspired and keep things going is a challenge but I’m learning step by step.
This blog is about my journey discovering the world that surrounds me and the path that’s laid out for me. And, let’s be honest, there’s so much to explore in this world. Romans 8:28 says that: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” This is the background of this blog. I believe that God does this for me also and that I therefore can always be happy, whatever crosses my path. With this background I want to discover this world and my place in it. You can come with me.
