It’s the most wonderful time of the month. I’m talking about that time where I post ten of my pictures, then link through to the next person in our circle of happy photo taking and sharing. Unfortunately I missed last month due to ill planning from my side. But I’m happy to have my stuff in order for this round!
For this month I asked my brother and his girlfriend if I could shoot them. On beautiful Portra 400 by Kodak. As the name suggests, it’s made for portraits. Since I’ve never shot it before I was very curious as of how it would turn out. As you can see below it turned out pretty well and yes I’ve fell in love with this film. The look and feel of them are just amazing don’t you think?
Before we went out on our shoot, I got to the internet and looked at some work of a few photographers I like for inspiration. I took those ideas with me and tried to play around with it. In the process I found it a challenge to direct that into these photographs and still be able to capture this lovely couple as they are. They were pretty stoked judging from their reactions on the pics so I guess I succeeded more or less.
That’s been it for this month and I hope you like it. Let me know below in the comments if you want to. Now I’m sending you off to Kate from Peregrination Gourmande, besides pictures she’s got some amazing recipes to drool over as well. So go check out her pics here and make sure to complete the circle and enjoy yourself while doing that…

Lovely natural photos, Erik. I can see why you liked the camera. You had some happy young subjects too. Perfect mix. 😊

Thanks so much Shannon! I’ll pass it on, they might like that idea 😉
What beautiful portraits! I love that you shot with real film. It makes me want to pick up my old camera or one of my husband’s old cameras that I have been gifted and take them for a spin.
Thanks Jen. Film makes me slow down and put more effort into what I do. Pick up one of those! It’s worth it 🙂
Beautiful portraits – bravo! There’s something special about working with real film isn’t there?! It reminds me of the good old days!

Well done! Shooting on film is something almost unheard of in this digital age. Your photos turned out great!
Thanks so much fleur! And yes it’s almost unheard of. Fortunately there are some pros fully committed to film (they never even switched). Great inspiration to me 🙂
